Meet Our Staff

Pastor Eddie Barbee is starting his fortieth  year in the gospel ministry. He was raised in Locust, NC and ordained to preach the gospel from First Baptist Church of Locust. He has been married to Debbie Hartsell Barbee for forty-nine years. Together they have two children and four grandchildren. Pastor Eddie believes that if you preach the gospel, and love the people, God will truly bless the church!

Mr. Dave Edwards was raised by God fearing, God loving parents that took him to East Lumberton Baptist Church every time the doors were open. God allowed him to use the talents he was given for his Glory in playing the piano and singing his praises. Now, God has lead him to another new chapter in his life as the new pianist at Mt Zion. He says he is blessed to be a born again Child of GOD! 

Micah Hasty, grew up at Mt. Zion, but in 2015, she fully surrendered her life to Christ.  In 2016, she began leading our Youth.  God has been faithful and richly blessed our youth. They have grown in size, and grown spiritually together. There is no greater joy for her than getting to lead children to Christ; this is her ultimate goal. Since 2005, she has been married to the love of her life, Daniel.  God blessed them with three amazing sons.  

Mark 10:14, Jesus says, "Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not:  for of such is the kingdom of God.  

The Youth are the future of the church!
